Halloween Witching Hour

Peggy Ryan (Universal Studios 1944). One day shy of Halloween, 60 years after this photo was taken, Peggy passed away whilst performing at her 80th birthday celebration.

This is a Halloween photograph of Betty Page, with blonde hair, minus her trademark blunt-cut fringe.

Don't forget to give a black cat a cuddle and a kiss!

Personally I never understood what is so bad about witches. They are just talented women. Magical Bombshells. Like all great women, they have their secrets, their desires, their style, their sense of humour and their own agenda.
My choice of Barbie for Halloween 2011 is the fabulous Medusa Barbie.

Trick or treat kittens. Meow!

Barbra's Book

My sister was given this hardcover book, the first design book from Barbra Streisand. A legendary Bombshell. I love how she includes her beautiful little pooch, so very bombshell-esue. They both look beautiful, don't you think?

I'm just so peachy keen to read this book! You can order your copy from the website below. Just copy and paste it into your toolbar.

Elegantly Scant

The talented designers at Australian fine lingerie boutique Elegantly Scant describe their own label. "Fall in love with movie star glamour, curves and bows, sass and cheek and the magic of old fashioned ribbon. Remember a time when lingerie was sewn with love and care and embellished with handmade lace. Elegantly Scant is about exquisitely crafted lingerie; it is about undergarments so breathtakingly beautiful they make you smile."

Who wouldn't smile? These are lovely items for lovely Bombshells. The website is below:

Agent Provocateur

It's all so exciting, Agent Provocateur is launching their entire lifestyle range online Monday 31st October.  So now kittens all over the world can get their mits onto the goods!  Get your purses ready as these items will cost a pretty penny.

What fond memories I have of routinely saving up my hard earned pennies and happily flipping my way through my many desired items in the original boutique on Broadwick Street. Many moons ago. That little store still stands there in Broadwick Street, though nowdays it's so much more than a quaint little sexy lingerie boutique in bohemian Soho.
I cherish every precious scanty piece I own. I know you'll love yours too.

My Week With Marilyn - Official Trailer [HD]

Lydia Hearst

In 1974, after joining her captors, the Symbionese Liberation Army, millionaire heiress Patty Hearst was famous for posing with an assault rifle.  Now, along with acting in various independent films, her 23-year-old daughter Lydia is posing in a range of lingerie brand Myla's retro-style collection.

Lydia's been working with Stephen Meisel, Mark Abrams, Terry Richardson and Mario Testino.

You can peruse Myla lingerie online at the website provided below.

Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson is a great philanthropist. She's the Operation Smile's International Youth Ambassador and she donated a Chrysler van to the Elim orphanage in Luevo Laredo in 2007. A busy Bombshell, Jessica loves animals, sings as a solo artist, has tried her hand at TV producing, has her own clothing and accessories line, perfume collection and hair extension range.

Early 2009 marked the start of Jessica being criticized in the press for having gained weight. Naturally, the nasty remarks were upsetting for her. Being a curvy Bombshell who's not afraid to eat, most men would struggle to find a flaw in her fabulous feminine figure.

Clever Corsetry

Maya Hansen is a corsetry genius! I've spoken of this talented lass before in my blogging and I'm sure to mention her again.

Her latest collections are inspired by stunning, sweet and sugary cakes. Another new collection of hers is inspired by Spanish royalty. I so very highly recommend a browse through her inspired website.

Spooky Witches Brew for Two

Welcome Halloween festivities with style. Here's a tasty little trick of a cocktail that you can conjure up for your festivities.

1 cup freshly squeeed orange juice
1/2 cup orange soda

2 shots black vodka
1 shot cointreau
2 licorice coils
2 peppermint sticks

Combine the orange juice, soda and cointreau. Pour the orange potion into 2 martini glasses. Holding a teaspoon measure upside down over each glass, delicately pour the shot of black vodka onto the top of the orange potion so that is floats, creating a layered effect.

The peppermint stick acts as the swizzle stick and garnish with the licorice coil.

And voila!!

And Then There's Rue

Rue was a breast cancer survivor and gave lectures on ageing gracefully. Rue was also an animal rights activist and worked with People for Ethical Treatment of Animals. As well as playing the role of Vivian in TV hit Maude, Rue is best known for her memorable role as the quickwitted sexpot bombshell Blanche Devereaux in the series The Golden Girls.

Married 7 times and after marriage number 2 ended, Rue (birth name Eddi-Rue McClanahan) moved to New York to persue her career as an actress.

One of Rue's quotes are,  "People always ask me if I'm like Blanche. And I say, "Well, Blanche was an oversexed, self-involved, man-crazy, vain Southern belle from Atlanta -- and I'm not from Atlanta!" "

Rue passed away on 3 June 2010 by stroke. She will always be a bombshell to us.

Woman Of The Month - October - Happy Birthday Ken Barbie

Happy Birthday Ken! A fine choice for October, Barbie all dressed and divine for Ken's birthday celebrations. It looks as though Barb has made a trip into Tiffany for a wee gift.

Ms Larue's Song of the Month - October

Here's Ewan McGregor and Renee Zellwegger singing Here's To Love. Here's to tom cats in bow ties.

Rock n Roll

I'd like to thank my beautiful bombshell friend Laura for pointing out this tres fabulous, inspirational gem of a blog.

Even if you aren't betrothed, even if you're fabulously single it's a beautiful blog full of great ideas and photographs. Enjoy.

Cookie Cutter Kitty

Roll the drums as I present a rare kitchen creation, cupcakes!  Made and decorated by yours truly.  Definitely more than 3 ingredients used here folks. Feeling rather proud of myself.

Calling all Mad Men

Hello Bombshells, are you running low on daily ensembles? Do you open your closet and develop a mental vortex when deciding just what to wear? Or maybe you're trying desperately to budget. Makes me giggle even at the suggestion that we Bombshells can budget!  But one can try...

Take a peek at the site below, yes it's Banana Republic. They have a small collection inspired by the Emmy award-winning television show Mad Men. Try it, you might like it.
